Why We’re Committed to Being Pet-Friendly
No matter where you’re looking to buy or lease a condo, as soon as you add “pet-friendly” to your list of criteria, the options tend to narrow down quickly. Many property managers are reluctant to allow pets for fear of property damage or increased maintenance costs.
This forces many pet owners—particularly those who lease—to compromise on housing. Maybe it’s settling for a place that’s not in the best condition, or doesn’t have your desired amenities, or is located out of the way of your commute, or charges extra “pet rent” each month for your furry friend.

Rest assured that we’ve also designed the interior of our buildings to be pet-friendly, too. We’ve taken steps in each unit to protect against typical wear and tear from pets to ensure your home continues to look and feel luxurious in the long term.
The kitchen, dining area, and living room spaces in all of our condos are built with luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring. LVP offers a modern, high-end look that replicates hardwood flooring without all of the maintenance and upkeep. It’s also scratch- and scuff-resistant, which means your floor will stay looking smooth and polished despite your pet’s nails. In addition, it’s stain-resistant and waterproof—the ideal setup for the dog who occasionally slops from the water bowl or the cat who has a tendency to nudge semi-full glasses off the edges of tables.

Muddy Puppy Pet Market
One mile down 1st Ave in Coralville you’ll find Muddy Puppy Pet Market, which stocks every pet supply you could need—natural dog and cat food, treats, pet beds, toys, crates, leashes, collars, and more. They also provide training to teach your pup the basic obedience commands and leash etiquette. Last but not least, they offer full-service pet grooming to keep your pet looking their best. Need to give your pup a quick rinse after a particularly muddy walk before you bring them inside your condo? Muddy Puppy Pet market’s self-service dog wash requires no appointment.
W.A.L.K. Canine Community
Four miles east of Elevate on Interstate 80 lies W.A.L.K. Canine Community, Iowa’s first and only indoor and outdoor canine community, set to open in fall of 2022. This 33,000 square foot facility has everything you and your dog could want—an indoor walking track, doggie swimming pool and diving dock, and an off-leash agility area and play area. When it’s too hot, too cold, or too rainy to walk your pup outside or let them play in our dog park, W.A.L.K. has you covered.
The space will have plenty of amenities for pet owners, too. Grab food or a few drinks at the on-site restaurant; remote work from their co-working spaces while your pup plays, supervised by on-site staff; or rent the private event space for your next corporate or personal event.

Thornberry Off-Leash Dog Park
While we do offer our own resident-only dog park in our backyard, we’re also not far from one of Iowa City’s most popular dog parks, Thornberry Off-Leash Dog Park! This well-kept 11-acre park is located in the beautiful Iowa City Peninsula neighborhood. It’s split into several sections depending on your dog’s size or needs. There’s an area for small dogs, an area for dogs who may not do well with other dogs but need room to run, a doggy playground, and a pond for dogs that love the water. Throughout, you’ll find paved walking paths and shelters for the humans, too.
